چکیده

The neutron electric dipole moment is investigated in a supersymmetric electroweak model admitting SU(2)W singlet and Q = −1/3, say D-type, quarks. Significant CP violating phases appear in the coupling between the singlet D-type quarks and the ordinary d-type quarks. Then, through the d-D mixing effects on the squark mass terms the gluino one-loop diagrams provide naturally the contributions ∼ 10e cm comparable to the current experimental bound on the neutron electric dipole moment. The CP violation in the d-D coupling would also be relevant for the electroweak baryogenesis. 1 Present address: Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc., Sapporo 060-91, Japan. 2 Present address: Taiho 2 4 4 303, Atsuta-ku, Nagoya 456, Japan. 3 e-mail address: [email protected] PACS codes: 11.30.Er, 12.60.Jv, 13.40.Em, 14.65.-q keywords: neutron electric dipole moment, supersymmetry, singlet quark

Cern{th/96{18 Implications of the Strange Spin of the Nucleon for the Neutron Electric Dipole Moment in Supersymmetric Theories

Supersymmetric model contributions to the neutron electric dipole moment arise via quark electric dipole moment operators, whose matrix elements are usually calculated using the Naive Quark Model (NQM). However, experiments indicate that the NQM does not describe well the quark contributions q to the nucleon spin, and so may provide misleading estimates of electric dipole operator matrix elemen...

DOE Outstanding Junior Investigator

Requiring that the baryon number of the universe be generated by anomalous elec-troweak interactions places strong constraints on the minimal supersymmetric standard model. In particular, the electric dipole moment of the neutron must be greater than 10 −27 e-cm. Improvement of the current experimental bound on the neutron's electric dipole moment by one order of magnitude would constrain the l...

Loop-induced CP violation in the gaugino and Higgsino sectors of supersymmetric theories

We show that the gaugino and Higgsino sectors of supersymmetric theories can naturally acquire observable CP violation through radiative effects which originate from large CP-violating trilinear couplings of the Higgs bosons to the third-generation scalar quarks. These CP-violating loop effects are not attainable by evolving the supersymmetric renormalization-group equations from a higher unifi...

Flavor - Nonconservation and CP - Violation with Singlet

Some aspects are considered on the flavor-nonconservation and CP -violation arising from the quark mixings with singlet quarks. In certain models incorporating the singlet quarks, the contributions of the quark couplings to the neutral Higgs fields may become more significant than those of the neutral gauge interactions. Then, they would provide distinct signatures for new physics beyond the st...

The Higgs Sector and Electron Electric Dipole Moment in Next–to–minimal Supersymmetry with Explicit Cp Violation

We study the explicit CP violation of the Higgs sector in the next–to–minimal supersymmetric model with a gauge singlet Higgs field. Our numerical predictions show that electric dipole moment of electron lies around the present experimental upper limits. The mass of the lightest Higgs boson is quite sensitive to the CP violating phases in the theory. It is observed that as the vacuum expectatio...
